Speakers Bureau

The Greater Seattle Dietetic Association Speakers Bureau is a resource for the community to connect groups with nutrition professionals to speak or provide presentations or cooking demos. The pool of potential speakers is made up of Registered Dietitian Nutritionists, Dietetic Technicians, as well as Nutrition & Dietetic Students & Interns. Review speakers below listing their areas of expertise and short biographies.  
 
Greater Seattle Dietetic Association does not endorse or sponsor any of the listed speakers. Each individual is a member of the GSDA organization, however, will represent themselves in each speaking opportunity. Speaking rates will vary and shall be determined between the individual nutrition professional and the inquiring party.

Bio:
Dr. Gheleva has been a nutrition professional for over 25 years. Along with her passion for all things food and sustainable eating, she has deep knowledge of nutrient metabolism, nutrition therapy for chronic cardiometabolic and neurodegenerative disease prevention and management, as well as nutrition and wellness for active people throughout the lifecycle.

She holds a BS in Nutrition & Dietetics from Texas Christian University and a Doctorate in Human Nutrition from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. She has taught nutrition at the college level for 18 years and worked as a nutrition scientist with a major food company for 4 years. She has led experiential learning experiences in Mediterranean food culture and sustainable food production in Italy, was a visiting scholar at the Mediterranean Diet Foundation in Spain and was the founder of the first college-based Teaching (Community) Kitchen in Washington state. As a nutrition coach, therapist, and educator/presenter, she is rooted in science, application-focused, and client-centered, and is also informed by her diverse background, cross-cultural experiences, and immigrant perspective. She believes food is medicine and loves to help others experience the power of food to transform.

Bio:

Christy Goff is a registered dietitian nutritionist, certified diabetes educator, and yoga instructor. She graduated with a masters from Bastyr University and has since worked in various settings including as an outpatient diabetes and nutrition educator, a clinical dietitian, as a dietitian with the federal program for women, infants and children (WIC). Currently, she splits her time between working at the Nintendo campus health clinic, a dietitian at Pacific Medical Centers and a prenatal/postnatal yoga instructor. Christy enjoys working with the media with previous interviews by Q13 Fox and King5, leading numerous cooking classes at Verdant Health, and presenting at local companies and community centers around the Puget Sound area. Additionally, she is a past president of the Greater Seattle Dietetic Association and enjoys leadership roles. No matter her job title, she helps clients start on a journey to solve their health goals through counseling, webinars, and general community education. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband and toddler, hiking, yoga, cooking, photography and traveling.

Bio:

Ginger Hultin is a Seattle-based Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and owner of the concierge, virtual nutrition practice Ginger Hultin Nutrition where she helps clients with complex health conditions through an integrative approach. She specializes in anti-inflammatory diets for integrative oncology nutrition, people with gastrointestinal disease, and autoimmune issues. Ginger serves as adjunct clinical faculty at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health in Seattle and has authored two nutrition books: Anti-Inflammatory Diet Meal Prep and the How to Eat to Beat Disease Cookbook. She is a graduate of the University of Washington and Bastyr University and is currently pursuing her doctorate of clinical nutrition at the University of North Florida.

Ginger has spoken about nutrition and health around the country as well as internationally to large audiences. She enjoys bringing energy, humor and storytelling to her presentations, creating an interactive and engaging experience for the audience. Deeply evidence-based, she is able to speak to audiences with varied backgrounds, bringing people together through open-mindedness and inclusion.

Ginger currently serves as adjunct clinical faculty at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health teaching master’s level nutrition students. She is a Vice-Chair for the Member and Student Advisory Committee at the Academy, President of the Seattle Dietetic Association, past President for the Chicago Academy and past chair of the Vegetarian Nutrition Dietetic Practice Group. She was awarded Emerging Dietetic Leader in Washington, 2020.
