The GSDA provides relevant and interesting information and opportunities for both professional and personal growth. These are just some of the benefits our members enjoy:
Newsletter
We publish informative and fun to read e-newsletters on a bi-monthly basis. Our newsletters are a way for you to get to know GSDA board members, learn about upcoming continuing education and networking opportunities, and volunteer events, legislation concerning our profession…and a recipe!
Continuing Education
GSDA plans several continuing education events each year, most of which are virtual. You can earn CE credits and they are offered at an unbeatable price with our all-inclusive membership! Other CE opportunities include cooking classes and Journal Club meetings to discuss current research (and sometimes enjoy the outdoors when weather permits).
Networking and Social Events
The GSDA website, e-newsletters, Instagram, and Facebook page keep you connected and informed. We also offer opportunities to network and socialize with fellow RDNs throughout the year, at both fun events and CE events.
Speaking Opportunities
GSDA members have the opportunity to join our Speakers Bureau, which we maintain as a resource for the community to connect groups with nutrition professionals to speak or provide presentations or cooking demos.
Volunteering
Volunteer events provide opportunities for dietitians to get recognized in the community, to network and to have fun! Past events include walking in the Heart Walk, Diabetes Walk, and the Seattle Marathon. Additionally, members have cooked a meal at Ronald McDonald House, participated in the KCTS pledge drive, helped Habitat for Humanity.
Find a Nutritionist
Do you want to receive referrals? Perhaps grow a private practice? Do you need low cost marketing opportunities? The “Find a Nutritionist” list can help potential clients find you! This free service is a great way for you to advertise your specialty and practice to other dietitians and the public. It also serves as a resource for those of us who need to refer clients on for more assistance.

Eligible to run for GSDA board positions
Each year, there are openings on the executive board. Look for information about openings in the newsletter, Facebook, and other GSDA communication.
Because GSDA is a local affiliate of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), you must also be a member of the Academy in order to join and remain in GSDA with full member benefits.
