Ray is a board-certified specialist in oncology nutrition at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and has a passion for helping patients mitigate weight gain from hormonal cancer therapies and improve metabolic health. This 1-hour virtual CPEU event will dive into the influence of weight status on cancer risk, balancing weight management priorities during cancer treatment, and cancer related causes of weight gain including hormonal treatments. Ray Palko is a registered dietitian and board-certified specialist in oncology nutrition who works with patients with breast, gynecologic, and endocrine cancers, genitourinary cancers, and those at high risk of breast and ovarian cancers at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. He has a special interest in helping patients mitigate weight gain resulting from hormonal cancer therapies and improving their metabolic health to help reduce recurrence risk. Outside of work Ray stays busy cycling, hiking (with his dog), exploring farmers markets and cooking.
