2021/2022 Events. Be sure to mark your calendars!
Looking ahead to the 2021-2022 season, there are a lot of exciting events in the works and one exciting programming change to announce. Instead of hosting events throughout the month at varying times as we’ve done in the past, GSDA decided to implement a set schedule and host events on the same day each month. So, this year, all events will be hosted on the last Tuesday of the month, beginning at 5:30pm. Please note, November and December are scheduled earlier in the month to account for the holidays. This is on a trial basis, so please share any comments or concerns at GreaterSeattleDA@gmail.com.

To kick off the year, the first event will be a virtual happy hour networking event on September 28th at 5:30pm. Grab a cocktail or mocktail and join your fellow RDs, students and board members for a guided meet and greet. Prompted questions will facilitate lively discussion on a host of topics.
For this year’s book club, we’ll be diving into Evelyn Tribole, MS, RDN, CEDRD-S, and Elyse Resch, MS, RDN, CEDRD-S, FAND book Intuitive Eating: A Revolutionary Anti-Diet Approach. We’ll discuss weight stigma, diet culture and how to incorporate intuitive eating into dietetics practice. Grab a copy today and join the discussion on January 25th.
Other programming topics include community nutrition integration with Stacey Morrison from WWAMI (UW School of Medicine: Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho), Liza Schattenkerk from Fred Hutch Cook For Your Life food styling and photography for social media, and highlighting the importance of diet for National Kidney Month in March. As always, GSDA student board members will host two events this year in November and May. Stay tuned for more details.
